Detail

Wet areas, earthing and the wiring standard

Spas, saunas and pools sit in the part of the wiring standard that deals with water, so the requirements around them are stricter than for an ordinary outdoor circuit. AS/NZS 3000 sets out the RCD protection, earthing and equipotential bonding that applies near a pool or spa, along with where an isolating switch can and cannot be placed. Getting those decisions made before the deck goes down is usually the difference between a tidy installation and a difficult one.

All work is carried out by, or supervised by, Registered Electricians. Electrical Plus is led by Andrew Baker, a Registered Electrician with over 30 years of experience, registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board. Every installation is completed with the appropriate Electrical Compliance Certificate and backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.
