Why does the electrical work need planning around your opening date?
A shop or office fit-out runs to a schedule, and electrical work needs to be planned early. Lighting, power, data, switchboards and equipment connections all need to be planned before ceilings, walls, joinery and final finishes go in.
We work alongside your builder, designer, shopfitter and other trades to keep the electrical side of your fit-out moving, from the initial plans and rough-in through to final fit-off, testing and certification.

The process
How does a fit-out run, from plans to opening day?
Commercial fit-outs involve multiple trades working to the same programme. We coordinate the electrical work with the wider project to keep things moving from the initial plans through to handover.

Plans & Quote
Send us your plans and project requirements. We'll review the lighting, power, data and equipment requirements and provide a clear quotation.

Pre-wire & Coordination
We coordinate with your builder and other trades to get cabling and electrical provisions in place before walls, ceilings and joinery are completed.

Fit-off & Finishing
Lighting, power points, data outlets and equipment connections are fitted off, tested and finished ready for use.

Testing & Certification
We complete the required electrical testing and certification, ready for handover and opening day.

Fit-out electrical work, standards and certification
Fit-out electrical work is carried out to AS/NZS 3000, the wiring standard New Zealand electrical work is done to. The required testing and certification is completed as part of the job, so the installation is documented when it is handed over to you rather than chased up afterwards.
All work is carried out by, or supervised by, Registered Electricians. Electrical Plus is led by Andrew Baker, a Registered Electrician with over 30 years of experience, registered with the Electrical Workers Registration Board. We are Site Safe certified, which matters on commercial sites where several trades are working to the same programme. Our workmanship is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.

Yes. We coordinate our electrical work with your builder, shopfitter and other trades to work towards your project programme and opening date. Getting involved early helps us plan the pre-wire, fit-off, testing and certification around the other stages of the project.
Yes. We can review your plans and help determine suitable locations for lighting, power points, data outlets, equipment supplies, signage and switching before work begins.
Yes. Electrical Plus provides electrical fit-outs for offices, retail stores and other commercial premises across Auckland. We undertake new installations as well as alterations, refurbishments and upgrades to existing spaces.
Yes. Required electrical testing and certification is completed as part of our work, giving you the appropriate documentation for the electrical installation we've completed.
Yes. Our electrical workmanship is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. Manufacturer warranties also apply to products and equipment according to their individual warranty terms.
For smaller shop and office fit-outs, we aim to provide a quotation within 24 hours once we have the information required. Larger commercial projects and detailed plan-based quotations take longer, but where PDF plans and specifications are available, we aim to provide these within 72 hours.
